Co-creating the Future of Sustainable Mobility in Radlje ob Dravi

Co-creating the Future of Sustainable Mobility in Radlje ob Dravi

On Friday, 23 May 2025, we proudly presented our contribution to the FURA project - the first integrated sustainable mobility system in Slovenia.

On Friday, Radlje ob Dravi hosted an important event that heralds a new chapter in green mobility. The Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi, together with its partners - Toyota, the public company KIČ and us, the Stroka Business Group - presented the FURA pilot project, which brings innovative solutions for sustainable transport for all generations.

Why We Chose to Participate

As a company with deep roots in the local community of Radlje ob Dravi, we understand the challenges faced by our citizens. Mobility is not just a question of transport - it is a question of social justice, environmental responsibility and quality of life. In the FURA project, we have identified an opportunity to use modern technology to contribute to a solution that will benefit all the inhabitants of the municipality.

Our Technological Solution

For the FURA project, we are developing an innovative mobile app and web platform that represent the technological heart of the whole system. The solution is not just a technological tool - it is a bridge between citizens and the services they need.

The app will make it easy to book transport for all generations, from the youngest to the oldest. Users will be able to easily order transport from A to B, book transport to concerts or extra-curricular activities, and parents will receive notifications when their child enters the vehicle and when they arrive safely at their destination.

The very useful functionality of optimising scheduled services will allow the municipality to manage its fleet efficiently and promote a culture of advance booking. The system will be designed to be accessible to everyone - in addition to the mobile app, there is also telephone booking via a call centre, ensuring that no one is left out.

An Integrated Vision for Sustainable Mobility

The FURA project is based on three key pillars:

  • Free public transport for all citizens with a circular route
  • On-demand transport with a symbolic price of €2 for distances of up to two kilometres
  • Free school transport with modern electric vehicles

The municipality will provide nine electric vehicles, including one adapted for people with reduced mobility. In the future, the vehicles will be powered by renewable electricity and the new bus stops will be equipped with solar panels.

Proud Cooperation

As our CEO Tin Markon pointed out: "We at Stroka Business Group are extremely proud to be involved in such an innovative project. Our app is not just a technological tool - it is a bridge between citizens and the services we need. As a representative of the company and as a citizen, I am extremely happy that we are setting new boundaries in sustainable development and mobility."

The Path Towards a Green Future

The FURA project will be implemented in three phases. The preparatory phase runs until the end of July 2025, followed by a test phase in August, with regular operation starting on September 1, 2025.

This project demonstrates that small local communities can make a significant difference through vision and collaboration. Radlje ob Dravi is setting a new standard for sustainable mobility in Slovenia and inspiring other municipalities to follow suit. As a technology partner of the FURA project, we are proud to contribute to a solution that not only addresses environmental challenges but also creates a more inclusive and connected community. This is our contribution to the green future of our home municipality and a model for sustainable development in Slovenia as a whole.
